Elon Musk sues OpenAI over alleged breach of nonprofit agreement.

Elon Musk, co-founder of OpenAI, filed a lawsuit against the organization and its leadership in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Francisco. The lawsuit alleges that OpenAI has breached its original agreement to operate as a non-profit organization focused on responsible development of artificial general intelligence (AGI) for the benefit of humanity.
Musk's complaint claims that OpenAI has shifted towards a for-profit model, prioritizing commercialization of its research and potentially aligning its goals with those of Microsoft, a major investor with a significant financial stake in the company. The lawsuit further alleges that OpenAI is no longer committed to open-source development of its AGI research, potentially hindering transparency and collaboration within the field.
